About ALICE
Mission
ALICE, AI for Linguistic Inference, and Computational Embedding, is a research center affiliated with the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada. ALICE focuses on making language technologies more useful, inspectable, and locally relevant. Its work sits between computational linguistics, representation learning, and applied AI: building methods that help researchers reason about language structure, measure meaning across contexts, and adapt modern models to Indonesian and other low-resource linguistic settings.
The center supports students, researchers, and collaborators who need a reliable starting point for prior work. This website is intentionally plain and tool-like: it gives ALICE a canonical public identity while making relevant papers easy to find, compare, and cite.
University Affiliation
ALICE is affiliated with the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada. The center builds a bridge between computational language research, mathematical modeling, and applied AI for Indonesian and multilingual contexts.
Focus Areas
Linguistic inference: methods for extracting, comparing, and evaluating linguistic evidence from text, corpora, and model behavior.
Computational embedding: representation learning for words, sentences, documents, and multilingual semantic spaces.
Indonesian linguistic AI: practical NLP resources, benchmarks, and retrieval workflows for Indonesian and other low-resource contexts.
